Linda Marie Stites d. August 21, 2009

Linda Marie Stites passed away on Aug. 21, 2009, surrounded by the children that she brought into this world.
In her 62 years of life, being a “Mom” was always her number one job. She raised four children with great passion and commitment. As an Osage Beach resident since 1977, Mom also ran the Hilltop Motel until 1993, worked as an LPN, and later went to college to receive a registered nursing degree.
Mom was kind and generous to everyone. There was no upper, middle, or lower class in her vision or vocabulary. Everyone was treated the same and she thought of everyone she knew as family. Mom loved to be funny, laugh, dance, and show affection to anyone who came her way. She was so much fun.
As a nurse, Mom chose a career with hospice and often developed a personal relationship with the patients and families that she helped. She then worked at Lake Regional Hospital, giving the same love and care to her patients and those she worked with.
Later in life, her number one job became that of a Grandma. Needless to say, she excelled in this newfound career as well. The love and passion shown as a mother transitioned to being a grandmother. To date, mom has 10 beautiful grandkids. She will be greatly missed in this world, as her love knew no boundaries.
Linda was preceded in death by her father, Thomas Henry. She is survived by her daughter, Kelly Ferguson, and Chris Ferguson of Wildwood, Mo., and grandchildren Emma (10), Abigail (8), and Owen (5); her son, Kris Stites, and Alicia Stites of Saint Joseph, Mo., and grandchildren Connor (11), Kiersten (8), and Madison (8); her son, Kraig Stites, and Jacqui Stites of Saint Joseph, Mo., and grandchildren Grace (8), and Olivia (5); her son, Kirk Stites, and Ashlie Stites of Osage Beach, Mo., and grandchildren Beau (3) and Bella (1 month); her mother, Margaret Henry, from Fayette, Iowa; and sisters, Marge Byers, and Sharon Nau.
A memorial service in her name will be held Saturday at 11 a.m at Faithbridge Church in Osage Beach, 885 College Blvd. The family will begin receiving condolences at 10 a.m.
In lieu of flowers, Linda preferred that you donate to Dogwood Animal Shelter, 1075 Runabout Dr., Osage Beach, MO 65065.
